I was born and raised in Holland, Michigan, and I’ve always loved the beaches, the water, and cruising down Lakeshore Drive. That love for the outdoors — and for speed — started early. By 18, I was working at deBoer Bakkerij, saving every paycheck for my first sport bike. I’d already spent years riding mopeds and have the scars to prove it. I never dumped the big bike, but I’ve always been drawn to bikes, cars, and building things with my own hands.
Since those early days at the bakery, I’ve worked in a wide range of trades and picked up skills that make me a true all-around handyman. I’ve had experience remodeling an entire bathroom to installing new egress windows. I’ve cleared out homes full of junk for foreclosure cleanouts and kept upscale vacation homes spotless and ready for seasonal visitors. I’ve done lawn care, home construction, auto repairs, and even spent time working on boats.
In hospitality, I’ve served guests everywhere from Bob Evans to the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club, meeting people from all walks of life — including some of Michigan’s most influential figures. Every job I’ve taken on has taught me something new about hard work, craftsmanship, and taking care of people.
